Ansel Adams: At the Water's Edge

The catalogue for the new Ansel Adams "At the Waters Edge" exhibition at the Peabody Essex Museum has certainly sparked my muse. Beautiful images of water and land abound. I love something that Becky Senf writes in her preface. In describing why she believes Ansel made one of his most iconic images, Clearing Winter Storm, Yosemite National Park, she writes,

"Adams made this photograph to share the vision of his experience with us, viewers who would one day see the resulting print. He invites us to join him in a moment of appreciation, as he memorializes his experience of watching a storm transform Yosemite into a glittering jewel box of trees laced with snow. We become Adams’ companions, standing at his side across distance and time.”

I want my photographs to do this.
